Default CRX battery tie down

Anyone ever seen a better battery tie down harness for a 88/91 CRX/Civic? The thin stock steel harness doesnt seem that great, and the little nuts look ready to rip thru it. A couple other issues I want to solve is placing something ferrous across the battery that comes near to both terminals. Something that goes transverse would probably better, or with proper cutouts so the terminals dont come in contact with the harness. So before I fab sometihng on my own, anyone else have any aftermarket products or ideas? I dont think the DC and AEM billet stuff would fit.

Umm...making a comment like that makes you look like an a%^. I have never seen an improved tie down sold but I have been contemplating fabbing something that works better than the stock one. I was thinking of constructing an entirely new tie down from the base on up. Never had the time or a real desire to do it but I thought I would throw my general rambling into the ring...

I repainted mine but it turned out like crap, there was so much corrosion on it even after sanding it all down it still showed through, now it looks like a silver piece of tree bark.

I used a piece of aluminum channel from the hardware store. I use it across the top of the battery as opposed to running the length of it. I just cut it about 4 inches wider than the battery and drilled 2 holes into it. I found 2 long bolts and used whatever holes existed on the battery tray. Holds my battery pretty good. Wish I had a digi-cam, pics are so much easier than trying to verbally describe something.

I ended up using a tie down from a later model civic. 92+ has a tiedown that goes the short way across the top of the battery. I was able to use 1 of the metal rods that holds it down on the motor side of the battery (hooked it under the battery tray). On the fender side I ended up using a spool of wire I had (Kind of like coat hanger thickness). Yeah... its kind of rigged, but I have $20 that says that battery isnt moving. You can probably fab something that would eliminate the wire I used, I was just kind of in a hurry.
