I have a 92 gs-r w/ the b17a1 DOHC VTEC I jumped timing an bent my valves just trying to figure out my options for a head swap till I can afford the head rebiuld figure it'd be the cheaper way to go for now. Any info is helpful & telling me to do a swap ain't an option im staying with the original motor thanks

Any b-series vtec head will work, but a b16/b18cr head will work out the easest.

Swapping in new valves is probably the easiest and cheapest way. Why don't you want to do that?

I don't got the special tools to do it but an engine shop just told me $1000+ for them to do it even if I provide parts so I might be tool shopping

Get in contact with steve at cccylinder heads. Im sure he can get your head fixed up to tip top shape for way less than a grand.
Hes got a great rep and from what I've seen, great prices and great customer service...

Why would that matter for N/A or boost?

Machine shop quoted you 1k?? LOL..

Normal charge for a hot tank, VJ, install new valvetrain and valves w/ seals and guides should be around 300-500..max.. if you supply the parts.

I'd listen to pryo and look for a set of valves around and outsource it to another machine shop.. lol.. 1k.. thats too funny.
