Identify This Head
I bought this head from a guy who knew less than I did. The markings on the head were as follows. Pr3-3 and then what I beleive was a date stamp that read: 9|9 0|4 0|1 9|0. I need to know so that I can get the ecu and the rest of the parts for the swap.

That means its a B16 or Type R head. That was made in 1999 so, its either a Si head or a Type R head.

P72 is GSR, it depends on what you want to do. If you want the same ECU that goes w/ the head, then no. What kind/year of car is it going in? ....edit....bastard beat me to it.....
the 99 Si ECU is a P2T and as you already know the Type R is P73 but....What kind/year of car is it going in, you can run pretty much any ECU in about any car these days w/ all the jumpers that are out there......

i know this. but, if you'd specify what car this is going in, we can help determine what ECU is needed. expletive it, you can run a PM6 w/turbo edit on that head if you wanted to and were obd0.
so, specify the year make model of the car and you'd get a better answer. I assumed you were OBD1, so mentioned the rarest ECU's I could.

you have an obd0 car, so your gonna have to do a little wiring and/or changing a couple things to run that head in your car( such as your distributer..). Your best bet is an obd1 ECU w/ a jumper, or find an obd0 B16 ECU. Your possibilties are numerous, so now you just need to do a little research and come up w/ whatever you think would work best. Chipped P28's are a pretty common ECU, however if you are going to keep everything stock, I would recomend a stock ECU. such as the P30, P61, etc... Just research, you are not the first person to do this so I bet someone already has a write up, or all the info you need somwhere...
