hey guys i have searched and searched but still cant find anything i have a b20 vtec in my 00 si ran fine up until the other day now at idle it wants to idle from 1000 and go till it almost dies and then back up like it has a big cam in it and when i pull out in the car it will spit and sputter all the way through the rpm range until about 4k but if i just barely let out of it and roll back into the throttle instead of gunning it it will run better any ideas

 

Have you cleaned the IAVC?

 

Quick question, if the iacv needs to be cleaned.. It can be the cause of the sputtering as well?

 

1st thing came to mine might be vacuum leak of some sort. try & check the MAP sensor too, thats what we ended up replace on my b16 last time.

 

Last tune up?

CEL codes?

Mechanical timing off by a tooth?

 

Is this the same at normal operating temps?
