Icon2 B16A3 Head Replacement

Whats up, got a quick question before i decide to purchase a new head. Im about to get a valve adjustment done on my B16A3, however, my mechanic thinks its a bit too noisy to be just a simple adjustment. So i was thinking about looking for a replacement head. i found a

99 Si B16 head, GSR cams, Type R inner springs, Portflow outer Springs and Portflow spring retainers, comes with B16 Intake manifold with all of the sensors, TB, attached and a P61 red VC. Missing one VC stud. -$500

im just not sure if it would fit my b16a3 motor. any suggestions or advice. my motor is extremely noisy during first three minutes of idle from cold start. here is a pic of the new head i might purchase!

Take your head into a machine shop to have it checked out before spending money on a new head.

The noise is typically a valve adjustment that's needed or a bad LMA (lost motion assembly) which needs to be replaced.

Sound clip available?

LMAs are under the middle rocker arm. Not extremely difficult, but the camshafts and rocker arms gotta come out. If you can swap a head, you can swap out your LMAs..
In my experience, LMAs aren't super noisy like your describing. Probably just needs a valve adjustment.

What kind of LMA's should i purchase? What would be the best application for me? I have a feeling that is my issue. I could save alot of money on a head if i replace the lma's. Where do I find those?

Get the valves adjusted first, then have someone listen to it and see if it needs LMAs.
Theres a thread in this section with a ton of LMA info.
