Icon2 What management should I get for my 99 SI Turbo project?

I have a 99 SI. Pretty much factory. Has an intake, greddy header, and different muffler (done before I got it). I have a turbo I want to install at 6-8 PSI. Don't want to change internals or anything else. Just want to run low boost with factory set up. What computer management system should I get that would be the easiest and quickest. Hondata seems to be the norm with everyone I talk to but I don't really want to switch to an OBDI. Is there a way I can keep my OBDII. Like I said before I am not looking to run massive amount of boost or mods. Just something to make it get around 180-200WHP. I know about engines but not the import game. I mainly rebuild mustang engines(big difference from a honda). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. can I run the factory fuel pump on this setup as well. I know I have to get bigger injectors but I am not sure if the fuel pump is up to the job or not.

If you're getting it professionally tuned, get whichever system your tuner prefers, or just get your tuner to burn you a custom chip.

If you're doing it yourself, Hondata S300 is popular, but a lot of people around here prefer Neptune. It's a little cheaper, the customer service/support is supurb, and many people feel its a superior product. You can also get a Moates Demon emulator and run Crome for less money, but it's harder to work with than Hondata or Neptune.

If you want to keep your OBDII ECU the only realistic option is to get a piggyback (e.g. Hondata S200, VAFC). It's cheap and it works on OBDII, but you won't get as good a tune as with an OBDI ECU with chip/emulator.

180-200 whp is so low lol... you'll probably be closer to 250 even if you take it super easy with boost.

You don't "switch" to obd1, it is as simple as plugging in an adapter harness & engine computer and starting the car.

There is no engine management solution on the market that will utilize the stock obd2 ecu and allow a code scanner to communicate with the ecu besides a piggyback such as greddy e-manage or aem fic.

That's what I tried to tell him in his other post.

I already knew everything you just said except the part about running an OBDI with the OBDII. I should have worded this differently i guess. anyways... i know more about this than you think. I have helped people turbo 5.0 mustangs. Just not imports. thanks for the judgement though. all i was asking was what ems people prefer and if i can utilize the ECU I have (OBDII and not add OBD1).

To everyone else thank you for the insight. i will look into this and see what the tuner can work with.

and sorry for the multiple posts. the admin copied it and put it in two more sections for me.

When you don't fill in the blanks, others will do it for you.
