fuel pump wont prime - 98 ex gsr bottom/built itr head/Hondata
Ok here's the deal drove my car home. Turned it off went to go start it again got nothing from the pump. Came back home and it started right up. Then drove it to work the next day. Went to leave got nothing. So got a new pump fired right up, but died 10 mins later while driving. So far I have checked all the fuses, cleaned all the grounds from threomosate, all the way to the tail lights, replaced the main relay with a new one, and even took out my hondata and pluged in another ecu. Will start once if I take the pump out and put it in again. I get power to the relay but not at the pump. Has me and 5 of my other co workers puzzled.
check your wiring from the relay all the way to the pump, if your getting power at the relay obviously its some past the relay. make sure all the pins are making good contact and are not recessed.
I had that problem over a year. Everytime I changed the fuel pump it would "fix" the problem temporarily. I changed the main relay the PGM-FI relay, the ignition switch the ground wires cleaning etc. Turned out it was the ECU- moisture got to it. Got a used replacemant and it's been 6 months and no problem.

It was an intermittent problem that I believe was moisture effect on the ECU circuit board. Rainy mornings the problem was the worst. This went on over a year getting progressively worse. I suggest that anybody with a similar problem borrow or buy another ECU to see if it fixes it. Cheaper than a tow.
