Ok little history I have a 2000 black type r with jdm hid front. I was getting in my car leaving the girlfriends house and I start the car and turn on the lights, everything comes on and a second later lights shut off. I have no head lights nor tail lights or cluster lights even if I step on the breaks nothing, first thought fuses. I pull all the main fuses everything is good under dash and engine bay, I think it could be my headlight wiring, or my actual switch on the steering column has anyone ever had this happen let me know I would really appreciate it.
If the HIDs are wired without a relay, I think you may be looking at a fried switch at the stalk. You don't want this.
HID ballasts have a huge draw when firing up and they can damage any inline switches, which are typically relatively weak since they're designed for regular 55w bulbs (and a max of ~55w). I forget what the max wattage is for 35/55w ballasts, but it's significantly higher that stock bulbs.
Bust out the Helms and start tracing wires and get to know your DMM.

I don't have any electric mods, just an alpine cd player but I have a feeling its one of the grounds I hope lol. The headlight wiring is not to nice pretty hacked actually, so ill have to go through it and it doesn't have a separate relay fuse for the hids, but that does make sense I just really hope that's not the problem.

Update: I looked at the headlight wiring tonight which is not pretty, but its seems that everything is still connected, so I got a light to tester and there is no power to the headlights what so ever. Tested all headlight fuses under dash and no power, neither to the rear as well. Does this mean that the harness could be fried? If you have any suggestions that would be great thanks.

Did you check the fuses under the hood? If not, this is probably your issue.
I've blown a main-fuse once when I grounded out the hot-lead on my alternator with a wrench. It's the one covered with a little rubber boot. Car was off, but it's a direct connect to the batter + side. The main fuses are big and see them without pulling them out (they screw in).
