ok so when i start my car i get a faint screech and when i apply fuel it gets louder. more than likely it is in the crank pulley(i think). it only makes the noise when i turn the car off and then on. the noise is there for about 3-10 seconds anyone have any idea what this is?

 

car is a 93 eg with b18c

 

take off all the belts: a/c, p/s, alternator and start it.

 

^this^ if its still there then it'll be the alternator pulley belt

 

I was saying to just take off all of the accessory belts ,not the alternator itself. I had the same problem and the alternator's long square head bolt was stripped and the nut must have just fallen off, re-threaded it, found a nut and problem solved

 

the belt was bad because it actually busted of the pulleysi replaced it now problem is solved thanks for the input though
