Drop my 92 Civic LX?
You can with drop forks, and I belive they are are called pro arms. (Rear lower control arm.)
OR you could buy drop knuckles, and trailing arms. Both are VERY expensive.
So yes, you'll need to be new suspension.
Shocks, springs, shocks, coilovers, it doesn't matter.
What's your budget?

I got cut my springs one and a half round off last year and it worked for me. I have an eg8 4 doors. The gap between my new rims and tires and the chassis looked awful, so I decided for that cheap solution. The springs were OEM not stock, and had like 10 or 11 rounds initially, so 1 off didn't make any difference in performance, but drop the car something like 1.5 inches, consequently the gap got smaller. Now I have lowering springs wich works so much better and make a better drop
. If u have oem springs you could do that, but only cutting like 1 or maybe 2 rounds.. not like 4 or 5!! be careful on that. Anyway, lowering springs are so much better and some models are not so expenssive. Good luck!
