My A/C quit working last week and I have been troubleshooting it the last couple days. Here is what I have done so far. I have done the conrol panel test and its fine, checked all relays and fuses. The compressor and condensor fans will kick on if you remove the relays and use a jumper wire from the underhood fuse panel, but not on their own. yesterday when I jumped the compressor the fan would also kick on, but today no fan...but the fan works independently if jumped from the fuse panel. When I unplug the pressure switch and use a jumper wire on the connector, nothing happens (also nothing with the meter). Pressure switch is tied in with the multiplex, so I changed out the fuse panel...still nothing at the pressure switch. Also the system is fully charged, it gets cold when using the jumper wire. Any ideas? Could it be the thermal protector? I have a parts car (without ac compressor) I was thinking about changing the ignition and trying a new ecu.

 

If you are not reading any voltage at the 2P pressure switch connector, then

Measure the voltage between the No. 9 terminal of under-dash fuse/relay box connector F (12P) and body ground with the under-dash fuse/relay box connectors connected.

Is there battery voltage?

YES - Repair open in the wire between the under-dash fuse/relay box and the A/C pressure switch.
NO - Refer to the multiplex control system

If you could answer a few questions for me so that I could better help you:

1).You said it gets cold when using a jumper wire, what wires are you jumping?
2).With the ignition switch on and the 2 pin connector plugged up, do you have any voltage on the Blue/White wire at the pressure switch?
3).With the ignition switch on and the 2 pin connector plugged up, do you have any voltage on the Blue wire at the presure switch

 

the thermal protector is on the compressor and kicks off if it overheats. it will mostl likely kick on if the condensor motor does not operate. I'd recheck your relays.
