A/C Compressor won't kick on automatically
Hey guys,
I just replaced my A/C compressor and charged the system. It's holding pressure and there doesn't seem to be any leaks. I can't get the compressor to turn on unless I manually give it power (so I know the compressor actually works). There's a relay in line that I've also replaced. Does anyone have any steps I can take to troubleshoot this? I heard that behind the glove box there's a thermostat to tell the compressor to kick on? Any help would be huge. Thanks!

Does the condenser fan start?
The control panel grounds a wire to the thermostat, if the thermostat finds the temperature is not too cold it passes the ground to the pressure switch, if pressure switch is closed the ground passes to the ECU. ECU detects this signal and if the engine is running at normal idle rpm (or higher) the ECU outputs a ground to the compressor relay coil to start the compressor

Okay, thanks so much. This is helpful. The condenser fan was running when you turned on the A/C and the A/C light on the button lit up just like normal. However, after jumping a wire which I thought was the thermostat wire off of the evaporator, now nothing is working. I checked the fuses and their good. Not sure what kind of mess I got myself into.
