b16a2 pcv? catch can?
I just picked up a hatch with a b16 out of a 99 civic si. It's pretty hacked. There's no PCV and it burns oil pretty bad past 5 grand. Is there supposed to be a pcv somewhere? Can I add one in to lower oil consumption? Where are you guys running catch cans at? I did a search and couldn't find anything for THIS motor.
No pcv? That means past a certain rpm your crank gases have nowhere to go and then your oil is probably getting forced past the rings. So yes you need a pcv. But you can use a catch can to prevent oil vapors from getting recirculated. Most of the time they are mounted in the original battery location, or wear the PS reservoir would be if you don't have it any longer. You run the line from the pcv into the catch can and the return line from the catch can back to the inlet on the intake manifold.
Or if you don't use a catch can it's just straight from the pcv to the intake mani.
