Default Buy which jack? 20 inches high enough for jack stands?

Will a 20 inch high jack lift a 1992 civic's recommended front or rear jacking point high enough to put 11 inch jack stands under the car?

Rapid Pump® 2.5 Ton Heavy Duty Floor Jack,
$80
lift range:3-20 inches

Rapid Pump® 2 Ton Low Profile Heavy Duty Floor Jack
$110
lift range:2.5 - 23.75 inches

Rapid Pump® 3 Ton Heavy Duty Floor Jack,
$80
lift range:5-18 inches

Rapid Pump® 4 Ton Heavy Duty Floor Jack
$110
lift range:4-20.5 inches

Rapid Pump® 1.5 Ton Compact Aluminum Racing Jack
$70
lift range:3.25-14.75 inches

Rapid Pump® 1.5 Ton Lightweight Aluminum Racing Jack
$140
lift range:3.5-17.75 inches

Which should I get? People say heavier is better. I don't care if it's heavy. Any other considerations? Will a higher one let you do more different kinds of repairs?

I think it's a valid question seeing as you have to be able to safely jack the car to perform many of the operations discussed in this forum.

I think the 2nd one because 2 tons is plenty and the lift is the best there. $30-40 extra isn't that much when you're under the car and your jack won't go that extra inch.

I'd get the second one. That must be a new model, because the previous one with the highest lift was an orange one, and I don't even see it listed. I sold my Matco clone, because it didn't lift high enough and had planned to buy a Ranger RFJ-3000LPF for $255 shipped:

I think I'll just pick this one up instead. The design is very similar, and they're all Chinese anyway!

I have the compact aluminum and the 3 ton lightweight aluminum. I love the 3 ton because it is lightweight and also it jacks high enough to put jackstands under both sides. The compact aluminum you have to do one side at a time.

The 2nd one is probably the best. It all depends where you're jacking it up and where you're putting the jack stand. I usually jack mine up by the inner part of the LCA and put the jack under the jack point, or vice versa.
Lifting capacity should be the least of your concern. The cars are light.

I've got one of those low pro jacks from harbor freight.

I'd go for the second one. pretty low sadle height, but pretty good total height.

If mine were to lift just 1.5/2'' inches higher I'd love it.

I have the low purple HF one and normal stands which is not a good combo since I cannot raise the car high enough to land it on the normal height stands

I like the Arcan Low profile jack which can go up to like 24 inches and has like 3.5tons of lifting capacity (more than enough) . Downside is that it's so heavy...

Bought that Arcan at Costco for like $80...

The best part about buying a jack with lots of lift capacity is that when you lower a light car, there is less risk of the car just plopping down onto the jack stands, which can be damaged and potentially fail at the worst time. I remember reading reviews saying that the Arcan had problems with gently lowering the car but I had no issues slowly lowing a Toyota Tundra when I used mine and I think that's because I was lowering a relatively light vehicle... Again, I have to emphasize that this jack is not light but nonetheless is quite beefy!

As for Jackstands, I bought these which I think give a little extra peace of mind:
