Default P28 Horror ... Help!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys I just did a D16Z6 swap into my CX. I used the stock CX computer and the stock CX harness. idled a little high till the car warmed up. Once it warmed up it quieted right down to normal. I wanted VTEC so I added a P28 which I got for 85 bux great buy. I was considering running it to a switch but since i got the P28 ECU I decided to look around for a SI/EX harness since on 92's the vtec wires are already their it would be plug and play but once i put in the P28 the car idled up and down really fast than slow. also their was bad hesitation when driving. So i put my stock cx ecu back in and it ran fine. Am I having problems because I am using my stock harness? Or could it be that I did not add the extra wires? for example Oil pressure switch, O2 sensor, and vtec solenoid plus ground. Any help would be much appreciated. If adding the wires for vtec will correct the problems can anyone show me some pics of how they did it. All I have to do is run the extra wires to the strut tower right? Anybody please help me. I am a newb but I have done everything all myself swap wise. Will post pics if needed...

Help Help Help me please!!!!!!!

Wire every sensor you possibly can. Any sensors that are not hooked up with throw it off hardcore.

If you're using the Cx harness then that prob. means that you're not using the heated four wire O2 sensor the d16z6 uses. That may be the problem. Also are you using the z6 disributer? If not that could also be the problem. Check to see what codes you're throwing. Good luck.

Hey yes my O2 is not wired yet. I did not think it would drive it that crazy. I am using my Z6 distributor though, so that should be fine. My friend has his old DX harness that has the 4 wire O2. hope fully that will correct my problem. I think the CX harness is not allowing me to plug everything up something must be missing. I will try the DX harness. Should I hardwire vtec to the ecu or can I just run it to the strut tower since I have a 92 Hatchback? If anybody has any pictures or can tell me where the oil pressure switch is that would help. Hate to act like a real newb but that is what I am. Learning as I go ... and did all the work myself go the bangs, bumps, and cuts to prove it!!!! LOL

I just did one of these swaps and you can either use the cx harness and add vtec,vtop,O2. if not you can use the dx one and just add the vtec and vtop to where the strut tower plugs are. good luck.

You're best bet is to wire it all up as it should be on the SOHC VTEC with the P28. Then troubleshoot your codes if any. You really can't expect to half finish the wiring and have the car run perfectly.

HTH, a little.
