ok so i just bought an ek hatch with a b16. changed the plugs and the fuel filter. car ran good before they were changed and now if im just cruising it will randomly start acting like its not getting fuel. i can either push the pedal to the floor and itl run right or i can let off n hit the gas again. i checked the gas cap when i got home and there was no pressure release.. so im wondering if the seal on the cap was bad if it would keep the tank from holding the correct pressure or if it may be something else

 

Plug wires, cap, rotor, ignition timing, and TPS -- consider them.

Any CEL codes?

 

well it didnt do it before i did the plugs n filter. ima go back through today n make sure everything is snug and just double check some things. its running a jdm p73 ecu and there arent any codes that i can tell. a friend of mine says it could be the harness, which is a chase bays cause his friends car did that but i doubt its that. but i also noticed that if im on the car it runs great

 

pulled the plugs again. tip is white n the base is dark. so its running lean. i noticed the number 4 plug was still gapped at 40. think that could be it?

 

does it only act up at operating temperature?

 

well not really.. last night after i re-changed the filter at my work i started driving home. it did great till about a third of the way and then started doing it.
