Default Vtec not working; b18c swap

Ok well today I took my eg out for the first time since the new motor was put in. I decided to get on it, its really quick but you can tell the vtec isn't engaging, i even tried slowly accelerating from 1st and i could tell it doesn't work. I have a cel on but its for the CKP and its an obd2 swap into my obd1 eg. i am using a p28 ecu, its using a b16 chip right now. Any thoughts of why it isn''t working?

Did you convert the dizzy correctly? P73 base map?

Yeah I did, and it is using the b16a chip. I have a chip from phearble on the way with the p73 basemap.

Something is loose or bad ground in your dizzy. Check your connections.

Well i took it off, and checked it a few times, i re soldered everything to make sure it was good and connected. I have no idea what else it could be, I took a multimeter to it and there was no current running to the vtec solenoid.

So you got the CKP code fix? Try a new dizzy. Clean the solenoid and/or try your old one from your B16. Are you using the solenoid from the JDM ITR?

Edit: You will need a USDM VTEC solenoid with the pressure switch not unless you disable it from the ECU.

Just try a new DIZZY!!! Are you throwing a code for VTEC/VPS? You mentioned of no voltage to VTEC.

Well i can't just find one randomly, I don't have any way of just getting one, unless a friend of mine let me borrow theres. But i doubt they will. But I am not throwing a code for the vtec, ill check again to make sure though.

It had a b16a in it before, it is an eg6. and RHD so it came wired for vtec, so i wouldn't have to wire it for vtec.

I have never done this but I have heard of testing the solenoid by running a power wire to manually test the functionality. again never done it....I just have extra solenoids to test thank goodness.

yeah, is it cause it doesn't have a pressure sensor? cause i was wondering why i had an extra plug. I think my b16 had the pressure sensor on it.

If it's unplugged, it's green. Does it throw a code? And your CKP, check your wires to ECU.

Well it has green wires, but yes it's unplugged, there is no place for it. I will check those as well.

UPDATE: Fixed it, for some reason the harness had the pressure sensor wires backwards, the green was on the ground wire, and the black was on the blue wire. So i wired up the black to the solenoid and grounded the green wire. Went out and drove it, Vtec hits hard. No more CEL either. Thanks for the help.

Yeah i know... i will I'm waiting for my friend to get up so we can make one. And its a y21 trans, but it has s80 with LSD gearing i believe. It was on my b16 at first, then i just stuck it on the b18c cause i didn't wanna buy another trans when i already have one with a lsd.
