1998 ex B16a2 swap vtec problems
Bought a motor from some shop called RameyBuilt and got them to do complete d16 to "built" b16a2 swap . They kepy the d series intake manifold on which i kinda find weird but thats besides the point , When i had got my car back I had a p28 ecu with s300 which ran very sluggish, no vtec had to go up to 4krpm just to get out of gears daily`n . Threw a virgin obd1 p28 in and was not sluggish but still was no vtec , put s300 in that ecu and still threw codes and didnt run properly . So after 3 other ecus shawn tried he gave me a P75 with a chrome chip and sodered some jumper harness wires together , hits vtec at 5.5 but whenever i slow down i get a CEL and no more vtec then the CEL goes away once i restart my car and vtec is back . Also the speedo has been on 0 on the p75 ecu but the p28 would just jump around . I am very confused as what to do , this constant CEL when driving and having to restart my car sucks . i just want no codes, working ecu, with s300 ..

wait. you have a B16 (dohc) with a D16 (SOHC) intake manifold on your car? how is this even possible?
you need to start with the basics. a b16 swap into a ex should be plug and play as far as wiring goes, did they mess with any of that at all?
then look at belt timing, ignition timing, plugs wires etc.
also, if this is a built motor (what's done to it any ways?) you need to stop guessing at ecu's and actually get a dyno tune for your motor.
while you're at it, pull your codes instead of just shutting the car off. something is not right, and it's throwing a code for a reason.

thanks for the responces , and no they are clueless and lazy . They like to work on there friends or people they know cars . I am not going to visiting that shop anymore seeing how everytime i go there its bs after bs and doesnt get anywhere so diy time . I checked for code with OBD2 scanner and jus says "Link Error" Maybe cus its obd1 ecu ? and correct , they used my d16 intake mani, intake, throttle body , and fuel rail , said they had to modify the fuel rail instead of asking me because i had a aem b16 fuel rail -_- .. also the wiring is same harness from my d16y8. this shop is very bad , way too problems to name .

Sounds like a cluster *** of issues.
Sorry I can't give more input.
But I don't care how many times I had to go up to that shop, I would MAKE them fix it or DEMAND some kind of money back compensation so I could take it to a real shop.
I just don't see how you could pay them good money, and it be fuked up and then you just eat it.

Nice vocab there, Ron.
But for real....I mean, I go to mcdonalds and say "no pickles" - and get pickles. I get aggravated and demand it to be fixed or my money back!
lol
Much less 400-800+ dollars of work done to my car - I would be livid!!
IMO - Start by getting/making sure you have the right ECU.
and Ron, where is your input on the d16 intake manifold on a b16? Will this even work. I didn't think you could do it. I guess with right tools and time it could be done?!?!?!
