I have 1997 Civic D16y8 and this what been done.

cp low compression piston
eagle rods
blox cams (stage two)
skunk2 intake manifold
skunk2 68 mm throttle body
skunk2 cam gear (pro)
dc sports 4-1 headers

everything is new incuding gaskets, distubotor, seals & ect

I am having problems. Not sure if it is the timing or what, but the car is not idling correctly. Can anyone throw me some suggestions. Also if anyone no's what the valve slashing for blox cams (stage 2)

 

whats the turbo setup you have look like

 

NO turbo yet, The motor was just recently rebuilt and I just wanna get it running. I got it to start but my timing is off. I TDC the crank pulley to the skunk2 sproket and then to distubutor. The skunk2 has a D16z6 & D16y8 settings and I am having trouble trying to figure out the sproket settings for D16y8.

 

Is it tuned? Can't add all of this an not get it tuned. Then after you're boosted you'll need to get re-tuned.

 

NO Turbo yet, I just wanna get it up and running so I can do a break in to the engine. Just wanna run it @ stock spec's for now

Can some one update me on the ohm on the TPS?
can some one update me on the skunk2 pro2 cam gear TDC (D16y8)?
Can some one update me on the distubutor TDC?

Motor can start but does need timing..

 

I know someone out that had this problem and hope to share with me.

The idle flickers up and down for awhile and then car will just die out. I check all vacuum lines, iacv was replace, I put the stock D16y8 manifold & throttle body back to figure out what is going on and I still have the same problem.

 

You never said if it was tuned or not. You can't add those kinds of components to an engine and not have it tuned.

 

I had retard couple teeth on the camgear, because the skunk2 pro cam gear has d16z & d16y8 setting on one cam gear. I have TDC the cam gear with D16y8 settings and it was oky. I have retard 4.75 degrees and timing was better. No other tuning or vacf or any other electronics where added. I still have the issue. It will idel oky then, idle will flicker (not that much) and then the car will die out. Please if you have any information please help me out. I need a car... thxs

 

Get some real engine management, Hondata, Neptune, CROME, etc, and get it tuned.

 

I have remove the blox cams and replace it with the orginal cam & it is ideling pretty gud now, yet it still dies out once warmed up. Can it be the piston rings or a bent valves. I have installed a Brand new map sensor and still does the same. I also have a TSI extream turbo kit coming in soon. If anyone can guide me the right way on getting it installed or a video on how it is installed and yes I also have a s300 Hondata coming into...Thxs....
