Im stumped.
Auto EK civic...shifts slightly hard...not really that bad- however, to shift from Park to reverse is extremely difficult. As soon as I get to D4,D3, or D2.....slides like butter.

I took the console apart...thinking that something had stuck in the shift pattern....nothing.

I inspected the configuration down there----its just the reverse hump....1,2,3, N....all easy as pie....Reverse to park, and park to reverse and its almost impossible.

Driving the car for 2 hours.....or 5 mins...no difference..still hard as can be to shift from park...to reverse.

It literally feels like something is jammed in there- just nothing (at least outside the trans) is there.

So...am I dropping a tranny this weekend? or is there say a shift solenoid that is causing this?

 

my guess would be your shift cable is starting to sieze or break i'v got 1 i could sell you lol take cover off the tranny and lube the **** out of it then work it back and forth .

 

if the shift cable was bad....wouldnt it be hard in d1,2,3 and N and not just park/Rev?

Ill lube her up either way......since I was in there with 450psi of air this weekend, and Id guess, I dried her WAY UP regardless....

Keep me in mind for the cable (just incase, lol)

 

if its got a frey in the cable or a chunk of corrosion it will only stick at that point . i have the shifter and trans also actualy i have everything from an auto i swaped in a 5 speed way more fun to drive even with the y7
