Its actually kinda common in eg civics to smoke a little. If it's only occurring when your pushing the engine hard, then your prolly having some light ring blow by.

I wouldn't say smoke is common, but for a car that's almost two decades old, it's entirely possible that the rings are going bad.

No it's not. None of my Hondas have ever smoked.

Checked the coolant and there is a **** ton of oil in it too....that mean the head gasket is gone?

Yes, the head gasket is blown. You may be able to confirm by doing a cylinder leak down test, but the oil in the coolant is strong already.

When you re ring the engine, it is much more involved then say just doing the head gasket? I guess I am asking if you do the head gasket, a lot more steps to re ring the engine?

How many miles on the engine? It's possible that your rings are acceptable and that the blown head gasket is the entire problem.

Yes there's a lot more to it. Engine has to come out of the car, and be completely disassembled. Ideally it should be hot tanked. Then it needs to be honed. and you need you need to put in new rings and bearings, and at the point it's cheaper and easier to just swap in a low mileage JDM engine.

yea...swap is cheaper, and easier really.

headgasket is pretty easy, but rings....easier just to swap it.

2nd note...what kind of oil you using? Ive noticed (synthetic only) that if I use anything but Mobil 1....I burn a bit...I mean...a little little bit using just upon startup, and maybe a 1/2 quart between 8k miles oil changes...
with Mobil 1...nada...nothing

So if you use synthetic....switch it to mobil 1 and see if it changes it.
