Icon2 93 Civic Sound System NEEDED

I have a 93 civic ex coupe and the sound system is terrible with a coupe speakers missing.

Does anyone know of any place I could buy the actual stock system or an aftermarket system that would fit my car?

Your better off getting an aftermarket stereo, as long as you get the adapter it should be plug and play no need to pay a shop to install it. As for the speakers its just a couple of wires and screws

Plus they give you wiring diagrams and kits to install it.

Hopefully you have the stock wiring plug in the dash, crutchfield gives you a harness that attachs to the new radio you pick and you crimp or solder it to it and then plug into the stock harness.

Speakers are just 2 wires each and easy.

If you want to do it yourself google how to remove door panel to install speakers. If not then find a audio shop and get a price quote. I just have 2 speakers in the front and a radio with auxilary port for my ipod and that is plenty enough for me.

Do you not know how to use the site? You put in some info about your car and they spit out everything that fits.
You asked for a system. That's about as vague as you can get. Maybe list what you want IN a system?

I think you need to go to a site dedicated to car audio.

Well I work at Best Buy and got some polk audio 6.5" component speakers for the front (with speaker adapters) and a pair of polk audio 6x9" for the rear and it sounds amazing. I also have an alpine CD player as well.

We use a website www.metraonline.com to see what size speakers you have after knowing year, make , model, etc.

Then, the website www.installer.com will show you the proper wiring harness for cd player, the right dash kits, antenna adapters and such that you will need to complete the system.

Polk audio has been the best speaker for me (IMO) considering all the brands I have been around in the past with customer installs and systems.

Crutchfield HQ is right down the street in Charlottesville VA.

I went with Hertz 6.5" Dieci DSK-165. I love the sound, and they didn't require a separate amp like some components. I've owned most brands of speakers (Alpine, MB, kenwood, Infinity, etc) and I really enjoy these Hertz.

I've never heard of Hertz and you put it above other reputable name brands. You got some audio sound bytes? What do you mean it doesn't require a amplifier? Everything, speaker (components), requires higher input power signal. SO you're head unit is suffice?

Op - Get a decent Alpine head unit and some decent co-axial speakers and you'll be set.

Or

If you have money, try the entry level components. These are a big difference if you're looking for sound quality. I wouldn't run these without an AMP IMHO.

Head to BestBuy to research on what you feel or hear is good and buy it somewhere else. BesetBuy will break your pocket. Ebay or Amazon is your best friend.
