Engine shudders, worn engine mount?
The engine kind of shudders, or shakes, usually when I'm putting it into first gear. If I ease it in real slow it's just fine, and if I shift into first real quick it's fine, it's when I shift normally that it does that. Could it be a worn or broken motor mount causing it? I tried looking at them and can't see any noticeable damage, but I didn't get in real close. Thanks.
I have this too, and I replaced the lower Driver side mount. That helped, but it still has a bad "lurch" in it.
BTW, D16Z6,Driver side lower torque mount is new. and seems to be a solid mount on upper Driver side, but OEM 120k mile on the pass side..

it does sound like clutch chatter. i have the same thing. its almost like wheel hop, but only when engaging? Do you have any other signs of a worn out clutch?
check to see if there are any visible tears in the mounts. Does the engine mpove abnormally under hard acceleration? Does the car lurch when you let off of the gas?
I looked at the engine mounts and there's no visible tears or wear, but I couldn't get a good look at all of them. Like I said, the clutch is only a year old, so I hope it's not the clutch. There are no other signs of the clutch wearing. It's only when engaging, and it's only if I start from a dead stop, or on an incline, where there's more load on the engine. If, I'm already moving a little bid, or on a downhill slope, it's just fine. And if I pup it into gear quickly, or slowly ease it in, there's no problem. It seems like it's only happening at a certain rpm. It also seems to do it a little bit more when it's warm.

Has this been an issue since the install?
What kind of clutch did you have installed....Stock or Performance?
When you replaced it did your clutch pedal still engage at the same point as before?

I haven't checked for oil leaks lately, it's pretty clean, but it's been a while since I've checked.
It just started doing this within the last two weeks. So it was fine for almost a year before that. The new clutch is stock, I don't remember if the clutch engaged at the same point as before, but if it was different, it wasn't by much.

If the clutch is still releasing at the where it should be, then its *possible* that the flywheel is damaged...but try to rock your engine by hand(grab the intake manifold to do this) if it moves a good bit, its a motor mount. Also an easier way of doing this(sounds stupid but works) take your hood off your car and have someone watch the motor when you shift to see if it rocks bad.
