Intake Questions,
i recently got a intake and my first question is
1:is it bad for the intake to suck in hot air
2:Why does it lose torque
3:Is stock or aftermarket intake better?
^ im asking number #3 because i would accelerate way faster with my stock intake,

you may or may not lose low-end torque with a short-ram air intake. hot air isn't efficient, but not "bad" for the intake. you were probably better off with your stock intake.
what's also important is the air flow you get from an aftermarket intake as opposed to the stock one. an engine that breathes better is more efficient. if you must have an intake, go with a cold air, but save your stock box so that you can swap it out in the winter time and avoid the danger of hydrolock.
Also, what kind of engine and which intake is it? Why are you adding an intake: is it for looks/sound or trying to gain some kind of power?

Make/model/year/engine? You didn't list what brand of intake it was either. The filter can make all the difference especially if it is a K&N vs a K&N "style" China knockoff.
For a stock d-series the best intake is really the stock one unless you've got mods to support the increased volume of air. I.e. cams, throttle body, etc.
Generally the best all motor intake is a tuned length 3" diameter intake with a velocity stack and filter.

AEM's version of the K&N filter is better. It's a dryflow so you don't have to oil it. Some people, although not myself, have reported the oil to cause a malfunction of the MAF sensor. The claims have been researched and debunked by K&N, but better to just skip the oil step altogether.
Thanks for all the answers but i have a honda civic lx 98
got a ebay intake (cause i research it doesnt matter about piping) but i have a k&n filter on and doing for extra power and to save more gas
