a small change of plans here since i no longer own that car.
i got a 95 del sol VTEC that already has everything( or half of what i wanted)
now since i have those dual piston calipers im thinking of going one step further and getting 5 lugh hubs for it
i really like the wheel choices available in 5 lug that are not available in 4 lug( like prelude 16s that are only 5 lug)
so
i want to make sure i got the correct info here to do this and missing any info.
for the front i will need
5 lug hubs that will press on the spindle with no problem?
can use the dual piston calipers
and the milled 23t bracket(or do i need a new one that has not been milled)
and stock ITR 5 lug rotors.
for the rear.
5 lug hubs
reading on TI i saw that theres a problem with spindle nut
thats pretty much all i was able to gather about the rear wheels.
most of the topics are 2 years or older
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
im doing a legend dual caliper upgrade on a del sol along with rear disk brake conversion.
i already got calipers and machined them
but not sure what else needs to be changed to make t work properly
do i need to upgrade brake booster and master cylinder or just master cylinder.
and what cars i can take that from?(i know integra for one) can a legend brake booster fit on it?
and which prop valve would be the best to use
i also have a set of brake pads that came with rotors can i use those or do i have to also buy prelude pads?

2. how much was milled off your brackets?

Well for all of you guys running 4-wheel discs and/or bigger front discs that need a bigger-than-stock 13/16ths M/C, there is a true bolt-in replacement for sure.
I heard a rumor that a certain 15/16ths m/c just bolted up, and it's true. I ordered one the other day and my shop put on ein a 1993 Cx hatch. It's a:
1991 Honda Civic EX 4-door master cylinder.
The part number from Honda is 46100-SH4-A11. They probably won't stock it, but it only took me one full day to get the one I ordered.
This m/c bolted right up to the stock Civic booster, so no more trying to find an Integra booster and m/c combo!
The only thing is that I cannot say which stops better - my Integra RS booster and m/c combo, or the 1991 EX with stock Civic booster because the CX we did the EX m/c on still had stock brakes to be upgraded with all Integra discs later.
The 1991 EX m/c is the same 15/16ths like my Integra Rs, but the ears are located the same as the stock Civic so there's no need for the Integra booster. the Integra booster is larger volume, but I've yet to determine if the Teg booster makes much difference over stock until, this CX guy gets his 4-wheel discs and 40/40 prop valve.
So if you want an easy m/c upgrade with no booster worries, try this one."
a. del sol Si or del sol VTEC (w/ b16) valve prop (since it had rear discs standard)
b. any 88-00 civic w/ rear disc (without ABS)
c. 90-01 integra RS (without ABS)
any of the models below will work with your legend GS 2-pot calipers
in order to determine which rotor is going to work on your set-up, which knuckle do you have on your del sol currently?
a. 92-97 del sol DX knuckles = 9.5" 19mm rotors
b. 94-01 integra/ 92-95 civic EX/ del sol VTEC (w/ b16) = 10.3" 21mm rotors
* once you find out which knuckle you have, then you can figure out which rotor would be appropriate for your legend GS front caliper upgrade on your del sol

Wow thanks for great post. I was looking for it but couldnt find it.
I will be swapping b series in.
And will be using integra knuckles and sway bars along with shocks etc.
I took off the rear disks from a del sol along with prop valve and e brake cables.
Just wanted to know if there was a best option
And. Fastbrakes? Still sells 11in rotors for 4x100 i belive.

i already got calipers and machined them"
Machined the brackets I assume?
I use the FastBrakes 11" plain HD rotors, thicker than TypeR. I do not see them listed right now, but have gotten a few sets through the years. Comes with hubcentric rings, 5 lug redrilled to 4 x 100.

it is imortant to determine which brackets you have...ie., 23T, 25T or 28T
all 3 brackets will interchange with your legend GS calipers
the 3 different types of brackets are made to accept different sized rotors.
with that being said, how much did you grind off your bracket?
the fastbrakes rotor is prob the one you want
but you're likely to have fitment issues if the brackets arent milled to spec
FASTBRAKES
the fastbrakes 11" rotor in 4X100 saves the trouble of re-drilling yourself.
if you don't have a milling machine or a drill press,
it also saves the expense of sending them out to have them re-drilled

sorry i thought i included it
i got the 23t bracket machined 3.2mmi took the single caliper brakes off the legend at first but they were so rusty that i had to go and find another set so i found a dual caliper set by luck and just took the caliper since my 23t brackets were already machined.
my friend has a machine shop so its not a problem

yea, that's right on w the milling
nice find w the legend gs calipers
sounds like you're all set w your machined 23T bracket
call fastbrakes for 11" front rotors
once you round up all your parts, it's a bolt-on affair

For those of you with a soggy brake pedal after caliper installation, here is the CORRECT bleeding sequence:
Bleed the brakes Right Rear, Left Front, Left Rear, Right Front. You do not go farthest to closest with Hondas.
Always bench bleed the Master cylinder when replacing the master cylinder, ABS unit, or proportioning valve.

i already gots the legend calipers.
i was asking is there any way to get the 5 lug hubs on the rear wheels?
as far as i know the only way is to get the type-r trailing arms?
or i can use some other 5 lug hub besides itr

For rear 5-lug you can do the ghetto whey(no locking washer and a skinny *** mazda spindle nut...dont do this lol) I would not trust that on my daily. Itr trailing arms are really the only correct option, use either the 4x114 or 5x114 ones, they both share that longer spindle.

hows my ABS system gonna react to dual piston calipers?
im upgrading from stock del sol vtec calipers (same as dc integra)
will it still be functional since there will be bigger pistons compared to stock on the front?
i would like somene with knowledge to answer this if you dont know please dont post incorrect info.

What the ABS will get upset by is an incorrect balance between front and rear axles, and a big change in the ratio of line pressure to brake force at the contact patch (brake PT ratio). Incorrect bias will show the fronts slowing down faster than the rears which will look like the onset of a lockup and trigger the ABS. Incorrect PT ratio will have the computer constantly over and under compensating with pressure corrections once it is activated.
Assuming the stock brakes to be the 10.3" rotors with 2.13" pistons up front with 9.45" rotors and 1.19" pistons up back, with .35cf pads and 195/50/15 all round your front PT is .584lbs/psi and the rear is .175lbs/psi.
The front legend setup is 11.1" with 1.65" and 1.50" pistons, which yeilds a PT of .702lbs/psi, an increase of 20% and that's before you add any performance pads into the equation. Increase the pad friction to .50 (a typical high performance pad) and you're at a PT of 1lbs/psi, an increase of 72% over stock.
This is certainly enough to upset your ABS system on both counts mentioned above. Maths aside, I know this will be the case as I had a similar setup on my EK and I had to remove the ABS fuse as it was triggering pulling up to junctions from 20mph. I ended up returning to the stock brakes, they were far better.

its a del sol vtec same exact brake setup as 94-01 dc integra.
if i switched to ITR abs system would that help? since they have bigger calipers up front.
(not sure if itr has ABS or not)

If you can it might do, but without doing the rear brakes to match the fronts it will still be triggering the ABS early under heavy braking as your bias will still be shifted forwards.
