integra brake upgrade
hi iam in the process in buying integra front knuckles for my 93 civic si.i had a quick question for the people who know the answer,or had experience with this.i found a few junk yards in my area that have 94-00 integra front knuckles but they are all ABS.iam not running ABS so i wanted to know if ABS front knuckles will still be ok to use compared to non ABS.
also i know more info on the master cyclinder but just thought id ask since were on the same boat, and ive been away from the car game for about a 2 years.would the ABS master cyclinder be useful even though the way iam going is non ABS.

any 94-01 integra front knuckle (GS, LS, RS, or GSR) will work for your 93 civic Si
all 94-01 integra (except the ITR) use front calipers are stamped 1 7 C L 1 4 V N with 10.3" front rotors
94-01 integra RS trim are non-ABS

instead of swapping out your booster & m/c,
you can upgrade your m/c and keep your 93 civic Si booster.
a 90-91 civic EX sedan 15/16" MC
will bolt on to your current EG booster
no bending or re-flaring lines
honda oem part # 46100-SH4-A11
use caution when dealing with the m/c & use a flared wrench to avoid stripping it.

For those of you with a soggy brake pedal after caliper installation, here is the CORRECT bleeding sequence:
Bleed the brakes Right Rear, Left Front, Left Rear, Right Front. You do not go farthest to closest with Hondas.
Always bench bleed the Master cylinder when replacing the master cylinder, ABS unit, or proportioning valve.

thank you very much.so i guess it dont matter if there ABS because its not getting hooked up.
i heard and read about that m/c set up on my car before.few people use it but heard it works well without bending lines.i found a pretty cheat master and booster so not sure what way i wanna go

***EDIT***
*I'm sure I'm not the first guy to discover this mod, and I'm not trying to sound as though I came up with the idea. Another H-T member told me that they've heard of this mod, so I just took it further and actually ordered one at my shop and put it on a customer's 1993 CX to test it - it works.*
Well for all of you guys running 4-wheel discs and/or bigger front discs that need a bigger-than-stock 13/16ths M/C, there is a true bolt-in replacement for sure.
I heard a rumor that a certain 15/16ths m/c just bolted up, and it's true. I ordered one the other day and my shop put on ein a 1993 Cx hatch. It's a:
1991 Honda Civic EX 4-door master cylinder.
The part number from Honda is 46100-SH4-A11. They probably won't stock it, but it only took me one full day to get the one I ordered.
This m/c bolted right up to the stock Civic booster, so no more trying to find an Integra booster and m/c combo!
The only thing is that I cannot say which stops better - my Integra RS booster and m/c combo, or the 1991 EX with stock Civic booster because the CX we did the EX m/c on still had stock brakes to be upgraded with all Integra discs later.
The 1991 EX m/c is the same 15/16ths like my Integra Rs, but the ears are located the same as the stock Civic so there's no need for the Integra booster. the Integra booster is larger volume, but I've yet to determine if the Teg booster makes much difference over stock until, this CX guy gets his 4-wheel discs and 40/40 prop valve.
So if you want an easy m/c upgrade with no booster worries, try this one.

The ABS master cylinder has a 1" bore and the non-ABS master cylinder has a 15/16" bore. You must match the booster to the master cylinder. The 1" will move more fluid and provide a shorter pedal stroke.
what about ITR Master Cylinder? Any difference? What size would it be?
Since this is for a Civic, I am assuming custom lines will be needed for an Integra MC. If the current MC has a 15/16" or 1" bore, I see no reason to upgrade.
