wow i feel like an idiot. the answer was right there the whole time and so easy but i guess that goes to show no matter how well you think you know your car there is more to learn. so no one knows of a good universial actuator for my door or a pleace to get a cheapn oem one?

Check your local PicknPull and find a Teg with power door locks and pull the actuator. 94

the alarm could be the problem with the doors. make sure it's not the cause of your headache before you chase parts

How would i know if the alarm is the cause of my problem? I cam heir the actuator making a almost clunking sound everytime it is engaged and even if i don't use the alarm keypad it will still do it.

this happened to me but it was the wires in between the door and the car, they broke inside the the wiring i couldent see it. just check everything because i didnt lock the doors for about two weeks and all i had to do was connect the wires...

Is it just the power lock/unlock that is not working properly or does the manual lock switch also not work properly?

If not, [manual switch also not working properly] then the problem is not electrical, it is mechanical, you will need to pull the door panel remove the actuator, if lock works properly without the actuator, replace the actuator, it is binding.

If lock still will not work the problem is most likely the lock assembly, remove it, clean it, re-lube it, reinstall it.
You should also check all the linkage rods, make sure they are not binding.

Where are you located, I have full sets of OEM power door locks , [actuators and lock assemblies] out of a 2001... http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...ystemcomp=List All&vinnoT=&trim=&trans=&view=normal they are the same as your 97... http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal I may be persuaded to part with an actuator. 94
