96-98 Civic EJ8 HID Questions
Hello guys,
Just have a quick couple question. I bought a HID kit from HIDXenonHeadlights.com from them since they had a one year warranty and pretty good price ( Went with the 8k). Any one have any experince with there HID kits? I called and spoke to them and they seemed legit. Also I have a 1998 Civic EX Coupe and the side where the cruise control sits looks a little tight for the ballast. What is the best location or alteration if any to have the ballast fit there good. Last thing I want to do is remove cruise control.
Thank You.

8k = sh*tty lighting first off the higher u go the worst the lighting is 4300 = best thus why all the manufacturers use it in luxury vehicles
2nd off HID's in a civic stock headlight are horrible and i hope you do not put them on your car because they blind other drivers and put out horrilbe lighting on the stock reflector the police will be on your *** about it especially in SoCal
3rd off get a HID retrofit simple as that
4th i tucked my ballast between my window wiper fluid and cruise control and the other one is right below my intake it is secure but you can put them inside your fenders if you got high quality HID parts you can leave them in water and they should still work because ballasts should be water proof
lastly cheap HID kits are worthless in my civic i have Ballasts + Bulbs + retrofit from a BMW M3 and they are great 4300K clear cut off line and they don't blind anyone
Personally i think you just wasted your money and if you are going to be the a-hole that drives around with their HID's in stock headlights well good luck to you and i hope you learn ur lesson sooner or later

Yea, I actually like 8k though. The wonderful thing is that I spent my money on something I like. I am just most concerned with the fitment. I like the fender idea, I will have to give it a shot.

Why people always got to throw out a stupid *** comment? I was asking about fitment. Also the 8k are installed and are probably 3x brighter than autozone halogen.
lol no you asked we gave u the truth about HIDs ok and no 8k will not be brighter than hallogen ppl that install Hids into stock headlights r quite dumb cause they do blind because a person like you knows what everyone else on the road sees why do you think no automaker puts Hids w/o an HID reflector into the cars.... your argument is retarded get the right size bulb it will fit no question needed but i hope you get a ticket for ur HIDs cause u dont listen to peopl that are tryin to help you
You might think they're brighter but they aren't. It's all in your head. They probably scatter more light around, but it's not brighter.
Light output is measured in lumens, get a lumen detection device and do a comparison. Standard halogden puts out about 3000-4000 lumens, an 8k HID is more like 2500 lumens depending on the quality of the HID bulb.
4300k puts out like 7000 lumens. It's a big difference.

I strongly disagree x2 unless the headlights dramatically changed, and I had a 98 and and they weren't that much different. I have some hid's I got from my local flea market for 30 buck's! They don't blind people, there 10k and they light the road up good the street signs really pop out I love em! People flashed there headlights at me more when I had my silvania silverstars lol. Oh and I have my ballest in the same spot as that guy that was hating because he got 8k's.

These r 4300 w/ a TSX retrofit something ur HID will never look like on a stock civic
and this is 8K HID in a stock Headlight
yead ur definitely right stock VS proper way of installing HIDs....
you and te other guy really dont know what youre talkin about 10k LOL wow that is one of the s*ttiest u can go u should of gone 35K PINK HID the only reason they light up the street more is because the light is scattered more out of the headlight

Ha! How do not know what I'm talking about?!? Mine are installed, work great, and don't have that ugly yellow tint to them. Witch was my main goal with getting them. also I DO NOT WANT A RETRO FIT ON MY 90's MODEL CIVIC! I think they look fugly on 96-00 civic's but that's my opinion, to each there own.
