HID in an EG.... to Projector or not, that is the question...
I was looking into HID for my 92 Civic Hatch, mainly because I just put a Phillips/Hella kit on my 94 GSR and the lighting is now incredible... so of course now the civic needs HID too.
Should I get Denji Projector headlamps so I can use the H3 style HID kit?
~any benefits over the stock headlamps when used with HID kits?
Haven't even checked to see if the stock bulbs can be replaced with a HID bulb... hmmmmm.
Just wondering if you guys have any input on whether or not the projector beams are more user friendly when using HID lighting.
thanks

beats me, H3 vs. H4, I dunno, I just want HID in my EG too.... and yes True HID...
so "everyone" you know with HID in a 92-95 civic has used the oem headlamps and they are happy? -cool.
I've never seen the H3 kits, does someone actually make them? True HID? Everyone I know has used the factory lights with the H4 kits.

I think you wont reap the benefits of true HID if you use them in conjunction with H3 (Denji projectors). Don't get me wrong, you can use HID with projectors. This entails creating a universal HID socket on the projectors (customization to projectors), in order to fit the HID bulb.
The projectors emitt a more narrowly focused beam of light. So you would not be using your HID to its full potential. With your stock headlights, you would take advantage of the HID's true intended range (wide and far), since the beam is more widespread.
I would use the H4 HID kit with stock headlights. If only the stock headlights where a bit stylish...but hey what can you do. My .02 cents.

I just asked this same question last week and from what I gathered, HID's would be better if used on stock headlights. I have projector headlights now and I'm gonna sell them and use the money for HID's. I think I will get the phillips H4 kit. If I can get a good deal on JDM headlights for my 93 hatch, I would definitely scoop it and strap it with HID's. Now I just have to find a nice price on the phillips kit.
