i know d17a2 is too slow

but what can i do to change that??? i got some stuff...

aem intake (short bar)
header 4 -2 - 1
exhaust 2'' with the downpipe
aem cam gear (sprocket)

in the last dyno i got 132whp and 109 tq.

what can i do for more ???

 

i want to know if is possibble gets a d16y8 manifold and put on it???? with the head too??? in the d17a2

The 1 thing that the FAQ doesn't mention regarding our engine is that installing even a stage 1 cam can cause noticeable improvement.

 

True, the FAQ's did not highlight this information. I just changed that.

However, using the Search feature is an entirely different scenario. The topic has been covered many, many times.

Since he already has a header, intake and exhaust, just tossing the cam in there would give it a little more umph.

Not sure how he managed to get 132whp horsepower with only a header, exhaust and intake, though. Hmmmm...

My guess would be that its on a Mustang Dyno or its a measurement from the crank.

 

I/H/E + Stage 1 cam = 125 WHP ~ 143.75 assuming 15% powertrain loss, that was on stock ECU with a cat. I'm half way there now, need H/E.

 

best way to get more pwr would be a swap / build + turbo.
I had been through with all boltons and tune, as well as turbo. ended up doing a k swap.

 

well... i think get a turbo kit... any recomendation about the turbo kit?? for buy and review??? pages or something like that????

If you're going to be k-swapping (according to your signature) I wouldn't bother putting any more money into the D17.

 

The D17 handles a 75 shot of nitrous quite well. Kpro and a good tune is also a great mod.


I'd be interested in details on how you came up with your hp/tq numbers.....


As for the D16Y8 manifold swap it is possible although it takes some work. I'm running one on my D17A2. The head is not interchangeable. The oil passages don't line up.

 

I actually didn't have a cat when I hit 125 husyk.
