A/c help
I have a 97 accord, that is blowing 60 degree air in 95 deg ambient. Not bad though it does not cool down the car when the vents are pointed back to cool my daughter, I sweat in the front seat. Anyway, after putting some r134 in I had the psi at 40 and 200 and the vents were blowing about 75 deg. Checked the pressures @2000rpm and the low side dropped to 20psi. Then we added some till the pressures @2000rpm were 28-30psi and 285-290psi. Resulting with the 60 deg. cabin air. Idle pressures were then at 45-50psi and 250psi. When off the pressures went to 150 High and 120 Low after about 8-10 min. Also note that my heater valve is fully closed, and the condenser fan is fully functional. Low side hose is cool yet not cold.
Oddly enough, my other vehicle has the very close pressures and temperatures, only the pressures when off come to 120 and 125psi after 5-8 min.
Any help would be appreciated. Speculations: both cars have over 235k and could have some humidity in the system I suspect.
