Default Flip Out Head Unit in a DC

So I have searched and not really gotten much feedback. The Audio Video forum is just too vague. Has anyone had any luck with a motorized flip out head unit being installed in the factory location of a 94-01 dash? I would like to upgrade my head unit so that i can play burnt DVD music and movies for long road trips. Currently my OEM acura 1DIN radio is mounted in top DIN location, and I have a second 1DIN pocket mounted between the radio and CigLighter/Ashtray. This setup still allows me to use the barely useable 1990's oem cupholder.

Does anyone have feedback or a pic of their DC audio setup in the dash?

Thanks.

a flip out deck came in my car.... it doesnt really fit well he just had it sitting in the bottom part of the DIN and the motor was disconnected so its always out and doesnt go back in. and the top hits your climate control so its kinda tilted down. needless to say if i can pick up a deck that fits better i will. still works and you can watch movies you just need to tilt the seat back a bit.

I'd look into a double din imho.

Easier to deal with and some of them come with detachable faces now days.

I second that double din suggestion. Sits in flat, sucks for our car that it sits rather low but its far better then having to deal with tilted screens as im pretty sure theyll have have that issue.

DD is the best way to go, better fit, can still use cup holders, no blocked vents, less moving parts to go bad, [flip out screen] can be recessed to allow room for dummy/stealth plate, the list goes on and on why it's better then a flip out. 94

Thanks for the feedback guys.... I had a feeling a flipout was not gonna work just by looking at the location(s). I had a 2DIN, problem was my coffee cup in the cupholder kept changing the settings when I hit a bump Plus the screen was so low and touch controls felt out of reach.

No worries though, I dont watch movies often in the car. I may just opt for a portable DVD player for those once in a while trips.
