K20A2 swap in X1/9: Help me get it running right!
Car:
X1/9 with K20A2 swap from 2004 RSX Type S.
Conditions:
1)Cam sensor connectors are interchangeable for some unknowable reason.
With Cam sensors in position A, the engine starts up a bit hesitantly, then soars to around 3000 RPM. Unplugging and repluggning the MAP sensor will bring the idle to something reasonable, but the very high idle is there waiting for me at the next start-up.
With cam sensors in position B, the engine fires right up, but revs like it has a 300lb flywheel.
2) Knock sensor I ordered (Beck Arnley 158-0917) has the wrong connector, so the car has been running without the KS during all of this.
3) Apparently, a bear broke into the box during shipping and chewed off two connectors from the harness. I replaced the MAP and TPS connectors with compatible ones from a 2003 Civic. Colors match up, but Honda may have played musical colors between models to make life harder for people like me in the future. Does anybody have pinouts or, even better, color guides, to which colors belong where on the K20A2? If Honda played with where colors go, then as many as six wires are in the wrong place.
