Default How to protect paint while traveling?

I'm getting ready to move from Oklahoma City to Tacoma WA and my DA Integra will be coming with me on the back of a flat bed trailer as we tow it all the 2,000+ miles up there. I want to keep the paint from getting destroyed by bugs and rocks while it sits there and have contemplated different methods to help. I think the simplest thing for me to do is to just remove the front bumper and cover the rest of the car (at least the hood and mirrors) in blue 3m painters tape. The question is: will the tape hurt the paint after sitting in the sun and the elements for 2-3 days? Can anyone think of a different or better way? Is the blue or green tape more effective? Has anyone done anything similar? Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Chase

P.S. A pic for reference

Somebody knows something. I gotta get it wrapped up like, today, so it can be picked up this weekend by my girlfriends dad who'll be the one hauling it.

I would just get a car cover and tie it down underneath.

I thought that was pretty obvious to lol, just go to pep-boys and pick up a universal car cover and strap that sucker down tight

What color red is that??? A code would be nice.

I guess what ISN'T obvious to you is how easy the paint can be scratched by a car cover flapping around in the wind. It might not "seem" like it's scratching it but the constant flapping and rubbing of the material on the paint will likely put some deep scratches in the clear. If I thought it was a good idea I wouldn't have asked the question. Oh and it's Milano Red, factory color.
