What?

You didn't really tell us what you did to fix it, or if it got bent, or ect... Sooo, you need a whole new car.

IF the transmission worked (you didn't say) before your shift rod fell off, then why would you replace the transmission?
And if you never install the shift rod properly in the first place then how do you know what works and what doesn't?
Just install it with the proper hardware... except you can install a bolt instead in place of that spring pin. Do a search for the size.

the b*tch pin fell out...its funny when you want them to come out theyre welded in...mine fell out last winter... put a bolt in it just be sure to use a metric bolt otherwise youll have excessive side to side play in the shifter ...which coincidentally is probably why you only have third and fourth because the linkage can only move so far to make the gear selector pivot to get 1-2 or 5-r ...hope this helps

4drEF, TearSDMF89dx thanks for the help. the transmission shifted fine before the retaining clip broke and the pin fell out. so now i will find the right sized bolt and see if that does it. i will report back. once again thanx.
