Spring pin in the shift rod
How's it goin guys?
I was outside today, removing my engine and transmission and the only thing stopping me is the little spring pin inside the shift rod. I have no idea how to get it out. I tried using a regular punch to pop it out, but I can't get it. And another thing is how to install it back in? Anyone know a tool I can use to get it out?

Re: Spring pin in the shift rod
most likely its a 8mm punch u need any other incorrect size u will damage the pin
u gotta give it a hard whack REAL HARD for a good 5-30 mins and u use the same method to put it back in there is a tool u can order online that specialize in removing it

either a 1/4 inch or 8mm will work grab a hammer and beat the living **** out of it, its called the bitch pin, sometimes its easy but most the times its a bitch.
the last time i pulled one it took about a half hour,
OH AND DONT LOOSE IT, they are a bitch to get out and a bitch to find a new one if you loose it.

Re: Spring pin in the shift rod
Is this part of the shiftlinkage and the pin goes in this black sleeve? If so this pin fell out on its own and I replaced it with a bolt and nut and thats why my shift **** vibrates like hell.
