Default 92 accord tcu code 14. what does it mean?

92 honda accord lx, auto f22a1. ive got some tranny issues. i got the codes out of tcu. ( one long blink followed by 4 short blinks ) code 14 i believe. linear (line pressure control ) solenoid open or shorted or FAS wire i was told also.

my question is what does this mean and how would i go about fixing it. i already swapped in another tcu but i get the same code and tranny performance.

any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance

Pike, I'm right there with you. 95 Accord EX Auto with code 14. Cruise control won't work because of it either. Just the other day though when it was REALLY hot down here in Florida the car went into limp-home mode. No codes stored even though the CEL came on and D4 started flashing. I'm a bit stumped myself. I'm going to tear down the TCU tonight and see if there's anything burnt in there and if not move onto buying a new set of solenoids to see if that clears the problem.

TCU internals were perfect. For the fun of it I took the ECU out and inspected both sides of the board as well. Found one small cap 33mcf 35v in the middle of the board to be some what leaking down on the board. Going to swap that out soon. Either way though. I did a reset, now my code 14 is gone, for now at least anyway. I'm going to keep looking for it occasionally to see if it silently comes back because when it stored code 14 (D4) would not blink under normal driving conditions. Still a little stumped here myself. If the code comes back I'm just going to replace the solenoids, do a reset and see if the code ever comes back. Also as a side not, with no codes present my cruise control still didn't work, so I'm thinking that's a separate issue, maybe the cruise modual since that's the only thing I haven't tested yet.

Here is a picture of the leaking cap in the ECU, not sure if this could be a culprit of the code 14 showing up on the transmission side, but regardless it's something to check for and replace on my ECU.

I think I did. I say that because I changed the solenoids and the problem went away for a week, then it came back. Then I changed the TCU, the problem went away for 2 months and then came back. Then I changed the ECU, problem hasn't returned now for 6 months. So the odds are it was the ECU. I still have the old parts and am going to open them soon to test the capacitors to see if their values hold up and that was the cause of the problem. Also, my cruise control still doesn't work, but I attribute that to my ever present ABS code thanks to the pump unit. If the d14 code comes back I will report back here, otherwise, everything transmissionwise is still A-Ok
