Default R134 leak

I have a leak out through the valve where you put the r134 in. It's leaking out through the schreader valve, I tried to tighten the valve but it's still leaking. Do I have to replace that whole line?

I believe you can just replace the valve, had it done on mine. I am not sure if you have to evac the system first. Also if it is evac out, there is an o ring to the low side fitting I would replace that o ring as well, for 50 cents it is worth it.

Buying valve caps for the high and low side ports would likely solve the problem until you can replace the valves.

I bought this tool that allows you to change it without evac and recharging. Works great, the back end is the on that lets you unscrew the the valve and pull it out/replace it.
