Default Bar and plate Intercooler's Vs Tube and Bar

Which is better ? Bar & Plate or Tube & Bar IC's ? I have heard that the Tube and Bar Ic's cool the air up to 20% better than Bar & Plate and is 30 % lighter ... i want to use a Tube & bar on a Sohc turbo setp but have never used one , I have always had bar and plate IC's... anyone have info on the 2 and which is better ?

You mean tube and fin, and actually for most applications they are not as efficient as bar and plate unless you have a larger surface area (meaning larger intercooler) and a louvered fin design.

For example. in order to get a Tube and fin to be as efficient as a bar and plate, you'd have to run a 24 X 11 X 3 Tube and fin to get the same efficiency as a 21 X 6 X 3 Bar and plate. Less surface area is needed in a bar and plate, and though its heavier, it is more durable than a tube & fin on average.
