hello got a quick question for anyone. i got a 95 coupe with a 92 ls in it that is decked shaved crower cams built head. ran great then the other day fuel pump stopped working. changed fuel pump fuel pump relay and checked all wires. seems fine. fuel pump will not kick on when you turn the key all the way on. will turn on if i disconnect the relay and jump prong 5 and 7 on the plug. but car will not start. please offer some advice or assistance.

 

Is the relay making good contact?

 

yeah. ive been through it all. brand new relays . im just lost on ideas . my buddy wants me to buy a new interior harness but i dont think i need to go that far

The car turns on if you jump pins 5 to 7? The way you worded that kinda making me think twice.

 

yeah if i jump pins 5and 7 the fuel pump will kick on but the car will still not start just turns over

 

You have indeed replace the PGM-FI main relay with a known 100% perfect working unit?

 

Does the fuel pump run if you jump 1 to 7 in the main relay connector?

yes the fuel pump does when i connect them. and yes it was brand new. i have ordered another one . waiting for thr relaay now. im trying an integra one

 

Is there spark at the plugs?

Is the ground wire attached to the thermostat housing clean and tight?

Do you have a multimeter?

 

I had that problem on a 93 del sol si. I even replaced the ignition switch. Turns out it was the ECU. Try another ECU to see if the fuel pump will prime and the car will start. My old ECU appeared to get wet. The ECU cover was oxidized from moisture. I think any other P28 ECU (s/b manual or auto correct application ) will prime the fuel pump

 

i have some sparki just checked the ground it is good. and no i do not have a multimeter.

i just tried a p06 and a p28 had no luck with it
