Everyone I am in need of a 2.5'' custom exhaust for a 2000 JRSC'd prelude. I am getting a Kamikaze header with a 2.5'' collector and i'm thinking about getting a Magnaflow muffler with custom 2.5 piping and a high flow cat. Anyone had any experience with these. How does it sound also do you recommend the oval muffler or the round type? Carsound vs Magnaflow cat any difference?

 

I run the Greddy PE system in my '96 Prelude VTEC.

On my '93 H22A powered Civic CX, it has a complete catback Magnaflow system (the muffler looks like the Tanabe Racing Medallion). No Cat-convertor. Sounds horrible.

The Magnaflow system sounded great when I had a GSR/B16 engine in there, but after the swap, it just didn't sound right. Maybe the H22A is just producing too much exhaust gases for the muffler to handle. I don't recommend it.

 

There are no Magnaflow cats. THe main companyis Car Sound Exhaust Systems and Magnaflow is the exhaust part of it and Car Sound is the cat part.

I'd recommend a cat, the longest and largest diameter resonator you can fit and a muffler that has an offset/center or offset/offset arrangement.

 

I think i want to get the Oval shaped muffler they had on their website. Also when you have custom pipes made. how big of a resonator do i need and how much will it cost.

 

I almost have the exact setup you are looking at except I went with 2.25" piping. I got the Magnaflow universal oval muffler (5"x8" stainless steel), Carsound Cat. universal round body stainless steel (added my own 02 bung), and magnaflow 4" round aluminized resonator 18" long. If you need sound clips let me know and I'll get some
