Got a 01 s2k that I had just replaced head with one I had valve job done. It ticks even after I adjusted valves 3 times. it also don't have the power it should and struggles at top end. Any thoughts on what this might be?

ok, so got the valve ticking noise fixed, but still need to know whats causing the lack of power at top end....any suggestions?

 

Did you double check your mechanical timing? Since you put the new head on you could have it slightly off.

yea, timing is dead on.....it just struggles at top end....also when the car is at normal temp., it cranks over like it has a weak battery.....starter and battery has been replaced. battery terminals also been replaced. all ground connections are good.....anybody had this problem before?

 

still sounds like timing to me man.....

 

STOP DRIVING HER!!!
Go to autozone get the "go no go" feeler gauges and readjust.

 

wheww. timing guys? k, first and foremost start with a 25 minute comp test.. then a leak down test.. that will answer a lot of questions,

as far as the valve adjustment if you've done it 3 times, ehh, i would check the comp/leakdown, then bring it to a good shop
