I'm thinking about just taking my car to a local exhaust place and getting an exhaust with mandrel bent piping and a straight through design..How much would you estimate this to cost? and what kinda muffler should i get or does it really matter? Thanks in advance

 

I really like DTM style mufflers (2 tips pointed at 45 degree angle upward) and I would have gotten one, but they are hard to find in a cat back system. If I would have gotten a custom one done, I would use a magnaflow muffler, cheap and they sound good, not too loud, and they dont sound like a swarm of pissed off bees.

Cool.. The shop i called today was a flowmaster shop so they said all they could do was magnaflow, so that's a good sounding muffler? How much do you think is a good price for what i wanted?

 

mags are just a bit louder than stock ..expect to spend about $80 to $150 for a stainless muffler...check out their website for different fitments

 

thats not too bad, i meant how much do you think a shop will charge for the custom piping and all to give me the most power possible from an exhaust..

 

ES Oval will do the trick...Quiet, cheap, and sleeper...

 

I'm really a fan of Blitz Nur Spec universal as well as HKS Hiper. Magnaflow makes good stuff. They make the mufflers for Thermal R&D.

 

Nur Spec is way too loud....HKS Hiper (high power) is really good although a Turbo Apex N1 is much more quiet than the HKS.
