Default Is my ZC basically a D16A6?

So I need to buy a bunch of parts for the SOHC ZC (non-vtec) I'm swapping into my 90 CRX DX, but I'm tired of getting confused looks from the parts guys. Being I don't know a lot about engines myself, I set out to find what the closest USDM equivalent to my ZC is.

This is from wiki..

"The non-VTEC SOHC ZC is similar to the D16A6 ('91–'96) and D16Y4 ('96–2000) engine, but with more aggressive cam timing"

The only other information I could find was about the v-tec and the DOHC ZC's (which I don't have.) My question is, what was different about the 88 to 90 civic d-engines? I don't know exactly which car my motor was pulled out of... so when they ask which engine I need the parts for, what do I tell them? Here's a picture if that helps.

same block, same internals, same head as the d16a6. The only thing different is the cam...

yep, and even the cam is only very minimally different. other than that they are identical.

that whole wiki blows and needs to be deleted.

"ZC" means D series, 1.6L.

doesnt matter if its carburated, dual cam, or VTEC. 1.6L D series is the only common denominator.

YOUR ZC may be from a previously carburated head or MPFI. the cams are each different. the MPFI ZC is closest to the A6. but its not the same. carburated is totally different.

full break down.

Thanks for all the info. So being my ZC is non-vtec, SOHC and MPFI, I'd be safe ordering parts for the D16A6? (For example, a complete gasket kit.)?
