Removing Stock Intake Lid
I just removed my stock airbox lid with stock air-filter. The throttle response seems a lot better, however I noticed the sound is 5x louder with it off driving it to redline. Would I be better off with it on or off?
Would a drop in K&N into the stock airbox ( Model E 2427) be better than stock?

Depends on wether and how much the noise is bothering you.
It certainly should be. I have the K&N from the AEM CAI in my stock airbox with a poor man's icebox and ram air setup. I'm very happy with it.

ehh.... that what they say.. just gotta make sure to spray it well all around.. the oil traps small dirt particles.. i also change it every 1500-2500 miles, so it don't get that dirty.. (i have couple of them, use one, while i clean the second one so theres no wait)

What if you took off your hood and your airbox lid? Wouldn't that ensure cold air to the filter?
Just trying to spice up things a bit.

Okay after driving with it off, it does feel like I'm losing low end torque (butt dyno), and just makes a loud sound. It's going back one. Honda has it there for a reason.
