Question about rear seat sub box in 4 dr.
Im looking at getting two Fi audio 15's. Not sure on the model but I will find out. They wont fit in the trunk with any kind of proper airspace, so I was thinking about taking out the rear seat (I never use it except for a place to throw random junk) and putting the box there, sort of like a half wall. This is the design I had in mind:

My question is, will this even sound good, and how can I go about tuning the box to the sub specs, the volume I can do, but Im lost on port area, length, etc. especially since the box is odd shaped. My goal is pretty loud output, but still able to listen to normal music too.
I think the biggest issue is that the subs are facing forward instead of facing the back of the trunk, which tends to produce better sounding bass. But I think that a well built ported box, and the fact that they are 15s with a good amount of power (probably around 1000w each depending what model they are, maybe more), should create pretty nice lows.
Any advice is appreciated. I have built a few boxes, and done fiberglass, but I have never done anything like this and just want to know if its worth doing.

Well I bought 4 of the 08 model back in 08 for db drag civic. They were the BTL's fully loaded and took 4500k each on burps and some daily play. I did 17 cubic inches per cubic ft of enclosure volume. They recommend no less then 17. It realy will depend on which model you buy. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/f...01-cut-sheets/
Check the link it should help. SSA website will have the best info, or Call Scott directly if you can get him on the phone.

Thanks man thats a good site. I need to find out what kind of Fi they are before I can really do anything else. But based on my measurements, I should be able to go up to a max of about 5.5 cuft per sub if i need to, so it should work out. then I can calculate port area and width. Im thinking about using aero ports.
Not yet. I should be finding out what model they are within a week, I will most likely get them regardless. I have heard them in the guys truck, they were pretty loud. Just waiting to find out specs before I look at amps.
Cool, Yea if your getting a good deal on them I get them for sure. I have owned the BTL and I have a single BL in my daily driver civic and I have to say I have never heard a better spl sub period.
Also, on your box design. It should work just fine. Make sure you round over the edges of the port on the front and in the rear. If you don't have a router you can do it by hand with a file. I recommend cutting your pieces first for the port and round over the edges before assembly.

Not sure yet. Im still waiting for the guy to tell me what kind they are. I got a quote for an HO alt. for like $650. that seems really high. There arent many choices for Hondas for HO alts.
