Crank pulley bolt tricks
There is no real "trick"! use a good impact gun.
For you backwards thinking dumbasses that recommend putting breaker bars on the bolt and bumping the starter you must be thinking about clockwise rotation engines.
Try this trick on a counterclockwise (most every honda auto) engine and you will tighten the bolt even more.
Chain straps will jack up the pulley and the Hex tool is good but you will have a bear of a time using one.
Impact ftw.

even a GREAT impact with a beyond sufficient compressor behind it still won't take off some of the tightest bolts. the tricks exist for this reason. (and i suppose people that don't own air tools lol)
valid point about the geniuses who bump the starter and risk shearing the bolt off though

Chocking the flywheel with a lock works to brace the engine if you're having trouble. Just a tip for those who haven't worked out that an impact gun is best yet. The flywheel chock also works nicely when you're torquing the bolt to spec.
I always just lock the flywheel but if the trans is still attached impact is the best. You can always rent an electric impact from home depot for super cheap if you dont have access to air..
