Best oil currently for synchro transmission?
Wondering what everyone is running for 2011. Running a JDM ITR tranny currently, shifting at 9300 RPM, will bump it to 10,000 RPM next year.

Understand, you want a oil that will be able to hold to the gears, and get carried up to the top of the tranny. I don't recommend anything synthetic, because it is too "slippery."
You'll notice a lot of tranny oils are of a heavier form. I tend to use regular 10w-30 Valvoline oil in trannys and they shift like butter and what not, I've started making my own mixture of fluid and its worked fairly well. FWIW.

our team runs castrol 20/50 in the tranny's..........when we remember or should i say when i remember. i found out the hard way that even if you think you put it in after an all nighter, check that **** again, and then check it again after that. Tranny's seem to run better when they actually have oil in them. but we run 20/50 fwiw.

i have ran royal purple synchromech and i just recently pulled my case off to install my cuff, and the gears are still brand new looking as well as very very little shavings on the magnet
was reading the other tread by MR. ........... Torco MTF for daily and RTF for High powered cars. Maybe i missed this but why not RTF for both daily and High performance..... This makes me think the RTF makes the tranny wear faster? Any truth to this ?
Ive been using GM syncromesh for years. ran it in my Stock LS tranny in my car making 700+whp and shifting at 10k. Shifting like a brand new tranny. Put it in a ton of customers cars with never any ill effects. Wanna try the Torco MTF though.
