Timing Belt Noise?
I bought my 93 SI from a buddy who had another buddy replace the timing belt. Since that belt was replaced, the motor has a slight whistle / whine to it. It gets higher pitched as the RPM's climb... what the heck is that noise?
I ignored this on previous car, turned out a screw from the cambelt cover was loose and rubbing on the belt. Yep.. belt frayed and snapped and took the valves with it :-(
If it was serviced at a Honda Dealer, they will have record of it. If it was not, than you will want to have it looked at by an experienced mechanic.
timing belt, tensioner, and water pump should all be replaced at the same time around 70k and once again around 140k if i'm not mistaken.

Now that it was put that way, it does kinda concern me. I think I will have a real mechanic check it out... the 'buddy' I refered to before was a bit of a stoner at the time the work was done, I don't think I should trust it too much then. Good thing its a project car and I haven't driven it like a hundred miles since then.
You'll need to adjust the tension on the t-belt.
Proper way:
-TDC engine
-Rotate engine counterclockwise three teeths
-Loosen 2/3 of a turn and retighten the tensioner adjusting nut
This is how I properly adjust all my F & H timing belts; otherwise, you'll get that whurring noise while idling and what not.
