Icon6 1996 lx y7 swap to 99-00 y8

So i found a 99-00 d16y8 swap with an obx intake manifold for a good price.

I'm wondering what i need to swap that in my 1996 lx (d16y7 obd2a) to the 99 ex (d16y8 obd2b) I have been researching about this and cant seem to find a good answer on it. i have been seeing many different opinions on things.

Something about air injection ports ?

Any input is greatly appreciated, Thanks for your help.

What part EXACTLY are you hung up on. These types of swaps have been done to death so if you can tell us EXACTLY where you need the help it would save a lot of guesswork.

Just don't want to have a headache doing this swap looking for easy as possible . What things are different beetween the two other than distributor , ecu, and iacv/vtec wiring?

It's the same distributor.
Really. What's so hard.

So I should go through with it as it seems simple. Which ecu should I use obd2a or 2b?

Now I'm confused. Your title says one thing and your first posts says something else.

Use the Y7 distributor. Everything else is plug and play with exception of wiring up VTEC, knock sensor and converting the 3 wire IACV to 2 wire. Use a 96-98 P2P ECU. See diagram below for wiring :

Its not the same distributor plug if its a 99-00 engine, so it would be better to use his Y7 for plug and play. Also if its a 3 wire IACV even from an automatic he'll need to find a 5 speed Y8 manifold to swap over to use a 2 wire IACV, unless his car is auto then he'll need an auto P2P ECU and keep the 3 wire.
